The "CALI HEALER " AKA Texas Healer either ither. The Cali Healer is my own mix of three wonderful , family fun dogs.1/2 Boarder Collie,1/4 ACD and 1/4 Texas Healer. I have raised Pure Bred Australian Cattle Dogs for 21 Yrs plus. The picky breeder that I am ,After so many yrs of breeding the ACD I ran into needing new lines to introduce to my program. I could not fine the right one. After several yrs of looking for that perfect dog to breed into my lines and about 7-8 dogs that did not pass the Capell Creek breed standards.( requirements) So I went off into my own little world and bred what I felt would make the perfect family dog. the Cali Healer ( Thats what I call them ) All dogs are a "mix" or a "mutt". What makes a breed a Pure bred dog? A " Standard " once their is a standard and proof of lineage, your breed is then recognised by a Registry.What is a " Standard ? A Standard is a specific , color, size,weight etc.if your plan goes well then a registry loke " AKC " American Kennel Club excepts your breed. What is a Registry ? A Registry ( like AKC ) is a Company that keeps your breeding records for you. I have produced 2 litters to date and my clients are raving about their puppies.I have goals for my breed that I will be exampling as the lineage grows. Stay tuned for pictures and Breed info. What is a TEXAS HEELER ? A TEXAS HEELER is a dog that is bred from 3 different breeds. The Austrailian Cattledog, The Austrailian Shepard and the Boarder Collie. Though this breed is common it is not yet recgognised by a Registry . BUT CKC has agreed to give me a shot at creating a standard for the breed. They are an awesome, very loyal dog. They love their family members and are very willing to please. They love water,love to play ball, frisbee,lounge on the coutch , go for a 3-5 mile run and or hang out on the family boat. They are a VERY versitile breed and are beautiful to look at.They are very protective of their family members and are knwn to sleep at the cribsideand or bed side while your baby and or children sleeps. Average height is aprox 14 to22 inches and weigh aprox,28-45 lb Coat can be short in length and or long. All colors are excepted at this time which is what makes the breed so fun. Ears, can be up and or down. One up, one down is not desireable. (standard is in developement stage )
